In early 2022, a group of concerned community members gathered to discuss the 2022 election and how the commissioner at the time had screwed over our community. One of these concerned citizens approached me and after some family discussion, I filed within a couple of days. I was going to run for office in order to help with getting more soccer fields a park areas in my county, but my passion has shifted and I now work to try and preserve our rural county and to give voice to the residents who live in the most rural parts.
Our DES system is slowly ramping up and we need to give it as much support as possible. I support a "Recruit, Retain, Retirement" mindset to get people into our emergency services, give them the resources to succeed and remain in our county, and help them to retire after a successful career.
Using the dual enrollment aspect of "Maryland's Blueprint for the Future", work to increase the amount of high school students taking vocational education classes to get skilled tradespeole into our workforce and on a road to success.
Work with stakeholders to find "out of the box" housing solutions, and work to identify property that is suitable for the construction or placement of small single family homes.
A cannabis grow facility was one of the catalysts for my entry into local politics. The one we have in our county now was plopped in the front of my wife's family property over the roars of opposition from the community. MY community. One is too many. I appreciate the need for data centers and while our county is not an ideal area for placement of a data center, I will work too keep data centers out of our county.
Have questions or suggestions? I would love to hear from you!
